We believe that every renter should be entitled to safe, suitable and secure housing as a basic human right.
In addition to our casework, the Eastern Area Tenants' Service, together with the Tenants' Union of NSW, and other allied organisations, advocates for renters both individually and systemically.
As a front line organisation, assisting close to 2000 renters a year, we understand the issues renters experience in their day-to-day lives and are committed to being a strong voice for promoting the interest of all renters to Government, particularly those from marginalised and disadvantaged backgrounds. We also encourage renters to self advocate and aim to empower renters to engage with the political system themselves.
We welcome contact from renters wishing to raise systemic issues or share their experiences for use as case studies.
